What a day!.
The lineup for Fastfest 2007 looked awesome when we first saw it and i can honestly say i couldnt have predicted what i saw on the day let alone anyone else!.
We convoyed along to Santa Pod with a couple of our show cars only to find at the gates that the show area was so waterlogged that no cars were allowed in or out of the area. This was wounding, especially for the hunreds of tents that were half under water at the back of the field. I bet the idea to camp the night before wasnt the best idea anymore, ooops!.
We managed to blag our cars into the Top 100 area in the pits as half of the Top 100 didnt show up and once the rain stopped after a couple of hours we could start enjoying what was looking to be an awesome day.
The Santa Pod crew set out to dry the strip whilst we were massively entertained by the drifting in the corner of the pits. A Volvo 340 of all cars showed us how to out run and embaress a few grands worth of skyline while those 200sx practised keeping inside the barriers in the wet. Hours of fun!
The strip eventually dried out after a few bouts of on of rain and it was time for the real action to begin, and boy did it?
All i remember is a free for all on the strip as everyone battled for thier times to impress. Motorbikes hitting 190mph in 1/4 Mile, BMW drag cars, Rally preped Escorts and even two high powered lorries joined n the action for what turned out to be an excellent day. Cant wait till next years!
